We are excited to share that the Cornwall Community Quota Trial is ready to accept applications for its second year! 
 
The trial is a CFPO, Duchy Fish Quota Company and Cornwall Council partnership, and has secured over 280 tonnes of additional quota derived from Brexit, to be leased across a range of species at below market rates. Recipients will be scored on social, economic and environmental objectives. We are expecting increased demand this year, so have created a wider ranging scoring system of 1-10 to allow for a fair scoring process.   
 
Funds raised will be reinvested against the four key pillars in the Cornish fishing strategy. 
 
The trial will better inform government’s decisions on how additional quota is allocated in the future to support a sustainable and profitable fishing industry. 
 
The application process is now live, submit your application to chris@cfpo.org.uk by 0900, Monday 23rd June. Applications will then be reviewed, and applicants will be notified of the next steps by June 30th, 2025.
